Participating in the cross-border run between Vietnam and China were 1,000 athletes conquering a 12km route from the Mong Cai border gate (Vietnam) to Dongxing (China) and back.
This is the most outstanding sports exchange activity along the border, and an impressive highlight within the framework of activities at the Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair 2025.
With a spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity, using sports and culture to connect friendship, the athletes presented to the audience and people of both countries a beautiful image of the unity, friendship, and hospitality of the two nations and peoples. This encouraged a large number of people from both localities to participate in physical exercise and sports, improve their health and quality of life; build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, and contribute to promoting cultural and sports exchanges between Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China).

Over the years, the relationship between Quang Ninh province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been a vivid testament to the traditional friendship and practical cooperation between Vietnam and China. The two localities have strengthened political trust and expanded cooperation in many areas, including economics, trade, investment, tourism, education, training, science and technology, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchanges.
Bilateral cooperation mechanisms are maintained regularly and practically, contributing to promoting socio -economic development in border areas, improving people's lives, and strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.
Along with economic development, the sports and physical education movement in the border communes and wards of Quang Ninh province has developed strongly, especially the amateur running events which are attracting more and more participants, contributing to improving health and building cultural life in the community.

Every year, Mong Cai 1 ward and other wards and communes in the area participate in nearly 20 provincial-level sports competitions, organize more than 20 grassroots-level competitions, and coordinate the implementation of cultural and sports activities and exchanges between the people of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China), including football matches during the Lantern Festival; folk dance exchanges between the Mong Cai Women's Association and the Dongxing Women's Association, along with many practical and effective cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities.
At the conclusion of the Vietnam-China International Friendship Run, the Organizing Committee presented commemorative medals and awards to outstanding athletes, and commended all athletes who participated in this special event.
