(Dan Tri Newspaper) - We will have to wait until 2026 to witness the next Beaver Supermoon.

On the night of November 15th and the early morning of November 16th, the supermoon Beaver appeared in the Vietnamese sky. This was the last supermoon to appear in 2024.

Many astronomy enthusiasts across the country witnessed the supermoon, capturing stunning photographs.
The Beaver Supermoon can be observed across Vietnam, provided the sky is cloudless.

This is the last supermoon of the year, occurring when our natural satellite is closest to Earth, as the distance between our planet and the Moon is not constant, averaging between 363,300km and 405,500km.

During this period, the Moon can appear up to 14% larger than a normal full moon. While this isn't enough to make a significant difference when observed with the naked eye, a supermoon like Beaver's will be brighter.

The next full moon, which will not be considered a supermoon, may occur on December 15th.

To distinguish them, all full moon days have a nickname. According to StarWalk, Native Americans used to name the full moon days based on specific characteristics of each month.

There are two theories regarding the origin of the name Beaver. First, in November, beavers prepare for the winter cold by building nests to hibernate and store food.

Another origin for the name is that November is the time when hunters set traps to collect beaver fur. The next beaver supermoon can be seen on November 26, 2026.
