On the evening of March 20, the Indonesian National Election Commission (KPU) announced the final official vote count results of the presidential election held last month, with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto emerging as the winner.

According to an AP report from the KPU, based on vote counts in 38 provinces across the country, Prabowo Subianto and his running mate, Gibran Vice Presidential candidate Rakabuming Raka, secured 58.58% of the vote.
Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and candidate Muhaimin Iskandar came in second with 24.94% of the vote, while the support for the pair of candidates Ganjar Pranowo, former Governor of Central Java Province, and his running mate Mahfud Md. was 16.46%.
Considering the overseas constituencies, the rankings of the three pairs of candidates remained unchanged, with Prabowo Subianto's pair leading their closest rival by more than 300,000 votes.
In total, the Prabowo-Gibran pair received 96,304,691 votes, the Anies-Muhaimin pair received 40,971,726 votes, while the Ganjar-Mahfud pair received 27,041,508 votes.
According to Indonesian election law, in the event of a dispute regarding the determination of the election results, the candidate pairs can file an appeal with the Constitutional Court within a maximum of 3 days after the official results are announced.
Indonesia's president and vice-president-elect are expected to take office on October 20.
Reuters reported that, following the official results, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent his congratulations to Prabowo Subianto.
Mr. Blinken stated: "We extend our sincere congratulations to Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto on his victory and once again commend the Indonesian people for their strong voter turnout."
