At noon on March 11, concluding the activities within the framework of the visit to Indonesia, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, departed Jakarta.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto saw off the Vietnamese leader at Halim Perdanakusuma military airport.

The plane took off at 12:00 AM, bringing the General Secretary and his wife to Singapore at the invitation of the Singaporean Prime Minister and Secretary-General of the People's Action Party (PAP), Lawrence Wong.

Before leaving Indonesia, General Secretary To Lam held meetings with the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (Lower House) Puan Maharani and the Speaker of the Indonesian Council of Local Representatives (Upper House) Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin.

Both houses of the Indonesian parliament support strengthening relations with Vietnam.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meetings, the Indonesian side highly appreciated the significance of General Secretary To Lam's visit, emphasizing that Indonesia always values ​​maintaining and promoting multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

Senate President Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin and House Speaker Puan Maharani affirmed that, as legislative bodies, both houses of the Indonesian legislature support the government in further strengthening relations with Vietnam.

The Indonesian side also expressed its willingness to share its experience in monitoring government activities and to strengthen cooperation between localities of the two countries.

Regarding trade, they agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in economics and trade, striving to achieve a bilateral trade turnover target of 18 billion USD by 2028.

At both meetings, General Secretary To Lam thanked the Indonesian side for the warm welcome extended to him and the high-level Vietnamese delegation. He agreed with the Indonesian side's assessment that Vietnam and Indonesia are two countries playing important roles in ASEAN, are reliable partners, and share many interests and similarities.

Further deepening the new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework not only serves the interests of the people of both countries, but also contributes to building a united, cohesive, and strong ASEAN and makes a positive contribution to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

The General Secretary and Indonesian legislative leaders also agreed that both sides would continue to strengthen information exchange and close coordination, supporting each other in international and regional forums through parliamentary channels.

In addition, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between state power agencies at the central and local levels, and between friendship parliamentary groups of the two countries.

This will strengthen political trust, promote substantive cooperation, and create a new phase of development in Vietnam-Indonesia relations.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam conveyed the invitation from National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani and President of the Senate Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin to visit Vietnam. The two Indonesian legislative leaders happily accepted the invitation.

Also on the morning of March 11th in Jakarta, General Secretary To Lam met with the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Ahmad Muzani.

During the meeting, both sides affirmed that the relationship between the two legislative bodies is an important component of the overall relationship between the two countries.

Therefore, both sides hope that their respective legislative bodies will continue to make positive contributions to the development of relations through the drafting and promulgation of legal documents, creating appropriate and favorable mechanisms and policies to implement cooperation in various fields, especially economics, trade, and investment between the two countries.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam conveyed the invitation from National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, inviting MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani to arrange a visit to Vietnam soon. Mr. Ahmad Muzani sincerely thanked him and happily accepted the invitation.
