President offers incense at Nga Ba Giong relic site, visits hero To Van Duc in Ho Chi Minh City

During his working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, President Luong Cuong offered incense and flowers at the Nga Ba Giong relic site in Hoc Mon and visited Armed Forces Hero To Van Duc in Cu Chi district.

On the morning of April 22, in Ho Chi Minh City, a delegation of Party and State leaders led by President Luong Cuong offered incense and flowers at the national historical site Nga Ba Giong, Hoc Mon district.

At the national historical site of Nga Ba Giong, delegates respectfully offered flowers, incense and observed a minute of silence to express deep gratitude and commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh , heroic martyrs and soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives in the Southern Uprising.

Nga Ba Giong is the place that witnessed the events of Hoc Mon people - 18 villages of Vuon Trau and Cho Lon, Gia Dinh, Saigon rising up on the night of November 22 to the morning of November 23, 1940 in the historic Nam Ky Uprising. This is also the place where the French colonialists secretly executed heroes: Nguyen Van Cu, Phan Dang Luu and many compatriots, loyal revolutionary soldiers participating in the Nam Ky Uprising.

Afterwards, the delegation visited Armed Forces Hero To Van Duc in Nhuan Duc commune, Cu Chi district.

At Mr. To Van Duc's family, President Luong Cuong sent his warm regards and expressed his deep gratitude for Mr. Duc's contributions to the nation's independence and freedom. He also wished Mr. To Van Duc good health and continued to inspire the next generation.

Mr. To Van Duc was born in 1942, in Nhuan Duc commune, Cu Chi district. He was also known as "Ut Duc" with the alias "Muoi Duc" when he was serving in the Liberation Army of South Vietnam. Mr. To Van Duc was known as the "landmine hero" thanks to his invention and dedication to the engineering force.

This morning, President Luong Cuong and National Assembly deputies of Ho Chi Minh City Unit 10 will meet with voters of Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts before the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
