President Luong Cuong sends message to AIPA-46

On the occasion of the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) taking place in Malaysia, on September 18, President Luong Cuong sent a message to AIPA-46.

The President congratulated Malaysia on its role as Chair of ASEAN and AlPA in 2025 for steering the “ASEAN ship” to achieve important results; especially welcomed the theme “Parliament on the frontline for an ASEAN of inclusive and sustainable growth”, which reflects the strong aspiration for an ASEAN Community that shares progress and prosperity together and leaves no one behind.

Faced with the challenges of the current international environment, President Luong Cuong emphasized that more than ever, ASEAN needs to unite, consolidate its internal strength and promote its central role, thereby maintaining peace and stability, while proactively participating in shaping development trends in the region and the world.

The President hopes that AIPA and each member country's parliament will continue to promote its pioneering role, through creating a favorable institutional framework, harmonizing legal regulations and development policies, as well as supporting capacity building and enhancing the sharing of legislative experience, especially in promoting the application of advances in science and technology, digital transformation, green transformation, etc.

The President also hopes that AIPA will continue to promote the unique strengths of parliamentary diplomacy to contribute to further deepening the friendly relations and tradition of solidarity among ASEAN countries and expanding cooperation between ASEAN and its partners.
