(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of March 21, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung inspected the operation of Dong Bai Ferry Terminal, Cat Hai District. Also attending were comrade Le Tri Vu, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

After conducting a field inspection and listening to the reports of the Department of Transport, Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company and the opinions of the delegates, the Chairman of the City People's Committee concluded: Cat Ba Sun Company Limited stopped performing the tasks directed by the City People's Committee in Notice No. 19/TB-UBND dated January 26, 2024 and Document No. 1752/VP-QH2 dated March 19, 2024. At the same time, the Department of Transport was assigned to develop a design plan and immediately organize the construction of a project to provide rain and sun protection for motorcyclists and pedestrians using socialized capital, to be completed in March 2024 .

Assign the People's Committee of Cat Hai district to invest in the construction of the expansion of the ferry access road and sidewalks; rest houses for workers; fuel depots, machinery and equipment supplies and other auxiliary works serving Dong Bai ferry terminal, to be completed in 2024. The city will allocate funds for implementation. Invest in the construction of the expansion of Dong Bai and Cai Vieng ferry terminals to increase the number of ferries docking at the same time. Assign the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and the Departments of Construction, Transport, Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with the People's Committee of Cat Hai district to perform the task; the Department of Finance coordinates with the Department of Planning and Investment to balance capital allocation, propose a report to the City People's Committee for the People's Committee of Cat Hai district to implement.

The Office of the City People's Committee coordinates with the Department of Transport to mobilize socialization. Assign Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho to focus on leading and directing the above contents.
