Miss Bao Ngoc recently attended the ASEAN Youth and Children's Climate Change Summit (ACYCS 2025), held in Langkawi from September 2-4, co-organized by UNICEF and the Malaysian Ministry of Sustainable Resources and Environment (NRES).
The conference serves as a forum bringing together young delegates from ASEAN countries, aged 15-25, to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and jointly develop innovative solutions to address climate change. This activity aims to promote the role of the younger generation in shaping climate policy, strengthening community resilience, and building a fair, green, and inclusive ASEAN.
Within the framework of the conference, Miss Bao Ngoc participated as the founder of Gen Zero - a Youth for Sustainable Development organization. Representing Vietnam, she shared about Gen Zero's journey, its community activities in Vietnam, and proposed international cooperation initiatives in the region during the thematic discussion sessions. Bao Ngoc, along with experts and youth representatives from other countries, discussed and debated to find appropriate solutions to air pollution and saltwater intrusion in various nations.
Bao Ngoc also shared the story of saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta – her homeland – with international friends, so that the world would know more about a fertile delta region in southern Vietnam that is facing the risk of being submerged by the sea in the future.
Bao Ngoc emphasized that this is not just a story for the Mekong Delta or Vietnam, but a global issue. Therefore, she hopes that the problems in the Mekong Delta will receive attention and calls for concerted action from the world. In addition, she will also contribute to the ASEAN youth's collective voice on climate, cultural exchange, and networking with international organizations at the conference to expand the network for sustainable development.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Gen Zero to learn and contribute to ASEAN’s collective efforts. Participating in ACYCS 2025 helps us connect, create a strong youth network, and act together to protect our planet,” Bao Ngoc shared.
Prior to ACYCS 2025, Bao Ngoc also represented Gen Zero and spoke at the 29th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan, and she will attend COP30 this coming November. In addition, Bao Ngoc has represented Vietnam at many international events such as the 4th P4G conference and the ASEAN Future Forum.
Bao Ngoc also represented Vietnam in moderating the youth dialogue session with the UN Deputy Secretary-General at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam last April; and is an active participant in community volunteer activities. For her consistent contributions, she was honored as one of the 10 outstanding individuals nationwide to receive the National Volunteer Award in 2024.
Participating in ACYCS 2025 in Malaysia further marks a step forward in bringing Gen Zero closer to the international stage, before Bao Ngoc officially introduces her project at the upcoming 73rd Miss World competition, where she will represent Vietnam.
