Changing the propaganda and education work of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union from one-way to multi-dimensional

Conference to review 3 years of implementing the program " Educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle for youth, teenagers, and children on cyberspace" on October 29

The conference was organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in person and online, connecting with 1,632 points. Information from the conference said that through the campaigns "One good news every day, one beautiful story every week" and "Civilized behavior in cyberspace", in the past 3 years, the youth union has had more than 13 million good news and beautiful stories propagated...

In particular, recently, the media campaign to spread positive information on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 with the theme "Proud of Vietnam" reached nearly 11 billion views on social networks TikTok, Facebook, Youtube, ranking first among major media campaigns on the occasion of A80.

According to First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy, this result shows that if we persistently spread positive information, organize and implement it properly, and have a widespread connection method, the communication effectiveness and impact will be very large.

First Secretary Bui Quang Huy suggested that in the coming time, the propaganda and education work of the Youth Union needs to adjust its methods to suit the requirements of the new situation, focusing on promoting digital transformation; shifting the propaganda and education work of the Youth Union from one-way to multi-dimensional, having regular interactions with union members and young people, making union members the "subjects" of educational work...

At the same time, the Youth Union at all levels needs to focus on connecting "digital ecosystems" with other agencies and organizations in the political system, integrating them into the "digital front" platform and the national population database system to share resources, and when necessary, unify and simultaneously spread directional information, increasing communication power.

At the conference, the participants shared their experiences in organizing events and movements that attract the attention of a large number of young people. In particular, the Youth Union at all levels needs to diversify the forms of expression to make the content more attractive and accessible; make the most of popular formats on social networks such as short videos, podcasts, livestreams, talk shows... selectively, inspirational photo series.

In addition, Youth Union organizations can organize creative online communication campaigns and competitions such as "Young civil servants with office culture", "I tell stories of Uncle Ho", "The beauty of young cadres"... to encourage young people to be creative and spread positive messages; apply gamification in education, design games and tests so that young people can both learn and play, and be recognized and encouraged.

Opinions also agreed on the need to strengthen censorship, orientation and combat in cyberspace; improve the capacity to identify and handle bad and toxic information by equipping union members and youth with digital communication knowledge and skills; proactively refute false information and distorted arguments with sharp arguments, authentic evidence and convincing language.
