Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club: A historic turning point

The year 2025 marks a historic turning point when Binh Duong merged into Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first season the team competes under the name Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, with the mission of uniting the new Ho Chi Minh City football community - large, diverse and full of aspirations, along with the responsibility to contribute and spread pride to fans.

Becamex TP.HCM will enter the new season for the first time in 10 years without Tien Linh, with the captain's armband given to defender Ngo Tung Quoc. But with a new name, as a member of the big TP.HCM family, the team is still full of ambition towards a new season with high goals.

Under the leadership of coach Nguyen Anh Duc, Binh Duong Club has said goodbye to a series of important players such as Tien Linh, Ngoc Hai, Hai Huy, Duc Chinh... and added Phan Thanh Hau, Nguyen Van Anh, Le Minh Binh, Adriano Schmidt... along with foreign players Hugo Alves, Oribaajo and Milos.

It is expected that Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club will move to Gia Lai province to play the opening match of V-League 2025 - 2026 at Pleiku Arena of HAGL Club. This match can be considered a new beginning for both clubs, when the home team HAGL marks the opening of a new cycle by completely saying goodbye to the first batch of HAGL JMG Academy.
