The publishing house with special honor and prestige is the People's Army Publishing House, under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
Books become heritage
With the specificity of carrying out its political mission, it is the place where leaders, senior leaders, and generals have chosen to publish their books and memoirs.
This publishing house also published a large number of valuable works such as war summaries, military history, memoirs, and theses of generals and scientists.
At the same time, coordinate with agencies and units throughout the army to implement sets of books serving the cause of consolidating national defense, building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern people's army in the new period.
Over the past 75 years, more than 20,000 books with nearly 70 million copies printed by this publishing house have reached a large number of readers inside and outside the military.
In particular, during the anti-American period, many books from this publishing house were printed in small sizes and followed soldiers to all battlefields.
Since the country was completely liberated, especially during nearly 40 years of renovation, many valuable works and books have been carefully edited and published on the occasion of major anniversaries of the Party, State and army.
These works not only effectively serve political tasks but also become military cultural and intellectual heritage preserved for future generations.
Colonel, writer Pham Van Truong, director - editor-in-chief of the People's Army Publishing House - shared that the People's Army Publishing House is very honored and proud to be trusted by the leaders of the Party, State and Army to edit and publish its works.
Works with orientation in leadership, direction, memoirs, war summaries... are military cultural heritage left for future generations in terms of military scientific theory, traditionaleducation , combat experiences, army building, military-civilian solidarity, illuminating the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" through historical periods.
Another special thing is that many of the publishing house's staff have developed and become high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, and Army.
Typical examples include Mr. Le Tat Dac, the first director, who later became Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior; Mr. Le Quang Dao, director of the publishing house from 1950-1954, who later became Chairman of the National Assembly...

Twice awarded the Medal of National Defense
In recognition of its active contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland, the People's Army Publishing House was honored to receive many noble awards from the Party and State: First-class Military Exploit Medal (1969); First-class Military Exploit Medal (1982); two Third-class Independence Medals (1997, 2007); Third-class Labor Medal (2015); Second-class Fatherland Protection Medal (2020).
With outstanding achievements in the period from 2020 to present, the People's Army Publishing House continues to be awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal.
The publishing house held a ceremony to receive this noble medal on July 11 in Hanoi, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the unit's tradition.
The medal is the recognition and appreciation of the Party, State and army for the great contributions of generations of cadres, editors, employees and soldiers of the People's Army Publishing House in the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.
