PNJ Chairman's daughter spends nearly 400 billion VND to buy shares

(NLDO)- After the transaction, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao increased the number of shares at PNJ to more than 11.8 million units, equivalent to 3.51% of charter capital.


Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange said that Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (stock code: PNJ), bought 4 million PNJ shares between December 19, 2024 and January 14, 2025, by negotiation/order matching.

After the transaction, Ms. Thao's shares at PNJ increased to more than 11.8 million units, equivalent to 3.51% of charter capital.

Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao is the daughter of PNJ Chairman Cao Thi Ngoc Dung. This Chairman currently owns more than 9.6 million shares.

Ms. Dung has two other children who are also shareholders owning millions of shares at PNJ. Specifically, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Giao holds nearly 9.7 million PNJ shares, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Ha holds more than 12.2 million PNJ shares.

On the market, PNJ shares closed on January 14 at 95,400 VND/share. Temporarily calculating at this price, the daughter of the PNJ Chairman will have to spend nearly 400 billion VND to buy the above shares.

Regarding business situation, in the first 10 months of 2024, PNJ recorded net revenue of VND 32,371 billion, an increase of 23% over the same period last year.

After deducting expenses, the company reported a profit after tax of VND1,600 billion, an increase of more than 4%. Accordingly, PNJ has completed 87% of the revenue plan and 77% of the profit plan after 10 months.
