The child turned purple and unconscious and was not given emergency care. The mother asked to be transferred to another hospital but was not allowed. The on-duty team was suspended.

On June 11, a leader of the Thoi Binh District Medical Center said that the team on duty related to the case of baby D. (4 months old), including a doctor and two nurses, had been suspended from work pending a meeting of the professional council to make a decision. The center's stance is not to cover up, and to handle any mistakes accordingly.

Previously, D.'s family sent a petition to the Department of Health of Ca Mau province and the Thoi Binh District Medical Center, accusing the medical team on duty at this medical center of being negligent and "ignoring" D.'s health after he suffered anaphylactic shock.

According to the petition, on June 2, D. was taken by his family to the Thoi Binh Town Health Station for vaccination. When he returned home, he had a fever and cried, so his family took him to the Thoi Binh District Health Center for treatment the following day.

However, after being admitted to the hospital, the child's condition did not improve. At noon on June 4, the family asked to transfer the child to the Ca Mau Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for treatment, but the on-duty medical team did not agree because they believed that the treatment was beyond the center's capacity.

At around 4pm the same day, D. was given an injection by the doctor but later turned purple. However, no medical staff came to examine him despite the family's report.

A while later, D. lost consciousness. His mother carried him to the doctor's office to ask for help. At that time, only a nurse turned the child over to pat his back to wake him up and handed him back to his family. Then, she went into the room without giving him any first aid.

Seeing that their child's condition did not improve, the family requested to be transferred to the hospital by ambulance and also requested medical support with the vehicle, but this was not granted.

The family then hired a car to take the child to Ca Mau Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for emergency treatment. Fortunately, D.'s life was not in danger thanks to timely emergency care.

A doctor at Ca Mau Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital said that D. was admitted to the hospital's emergency room and diagnosed with a grade II anaphylactic reaction and a digestive infection.
