Announcing emergency situation of landslide on Tien River bank in Tan Long commune

(DTO) The Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Decision to declare an emergency situation regarding landslides on the Tien River bank in Tan Quoi Hamlet, Tan Long Commune (from An Long - Tan Quoi ferry terminal upstream).

Accordingly, the emergency situation is 360 meters long (from An Long - Tan Quoi ferry terminal upstream), threatening the safety of life and property of 39 households living in the landslide area, with the risk of landslides occurring at any time. Of these, 24 households are living close to the riverbank and need to be urgently evacuated to a safe place.

Urgent measures that need to be applied immediately to respond and overcome the consequences in order to prevent and minimize damage caused by natural disasters include: organizing the urgent evacuation of 24 households located close to the riverbank to a safe place; identifying landslide belts, placing warning signs, stretching ropes and demarcating dangerous areas; strictly prohibiting road vehicles from passing through landslide areas; closely monitoring landslide developments and widely announcing them on the media so that people can proactively prevent them.

In addition, urgently deploy surveys and assessments of the entire route (especially the An Long - Tan Quoi ferry area); propose effective and appropriate landslide remediation measures in accordance with actual conditions to promptly prevent landslides, protect people's lives and property...

The Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Tan Long Commune to urgently organize the emergency evacuation of 24 households to a safe place; closely monitor developments, review the landslide belt, continue to mobilize households at high risk to evacuate; install warning signs in dangerous areas; ensure absolute safety of people's lives and minimize damage to property.

Relevant units (Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Finance, Department of Construction, Police, Military ) must coordinate to prepare forces and materials to respond and promptly handle emerging emergency situations, ensuring absolute safety of people's lives and minimizing damage to people's property.
