Preparations for the 70th anniversary celebration of welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North in Sam Son City are basically complete.

On the morning of October 10th, the Organizing Committee for commemorating major holidays and important historical events in the province in 2024 and 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) held a conference to assess the preparations for the 70th anniversary celebration of welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North, held in Sam Son City. Comrade Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Head of the Organizing Committee, chaired the conference.

Overview of the conference.

Attending the conference were: Comrade Dao Xuan Yen, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from relevant provincial departments, agencies, and Sam Son City.

Comrade Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and Head of the Organizing Committee, chaired the meeting.

At the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen and other delegates listened to and commented on the progress of installing interior furnishings and equipment, displaying documents, artifacts, and memorabilia, and the production of the documentary film "The Gathering Ship - A Symbol of the Song of Victory" to be screened at the exhibition space showcasing documents and artifacts about the people of the South who gathered in the North in Sam Son City. They also discussed the detailed program and script for the 70th anniversary celebration of welcoming the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who gathered in the North in Sam Son City; the progress of rehearsals for the artistic program at the celebration; coordination with Vietnam Television to broadcast the celebration live on VTV1; and ensuring security, traffic safety, and fire prevention for the celebration.

Concluding the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen affirmed: The 70th Anniversary Celebration of welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North aims to recall 70 years of profound affection between cadres and people of the South and North; to affirm the honor and pride of the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Thanh Hoa province - a place trusted and chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as the location to welcome, care for, and nurture compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South. Through this, it aims to propagate and educate cadres, Party members, and the people of the province about patriotism and gratitude to the generations of ancestors who made many sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, building, and protecting the Fatherland.

This is a series of important political events for Thanh Hoa province, therefore the Provincial Party Standing Committee has planned early on, providing decisive leadership and direction to all levels and sectors to actively participate. To date, preparations for the commemoration ceremony are basically complete according to plan.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the decisive leadership of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the departments and agencies, and Sam Son City in preparing the necessary conditions for the commemoration ceremony. He also assigned specific tasks to the units, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the assigned tasks according to the plan.

Accordingly, it is requested that the People's Committee of Sam Son City organize thorough cleaning inside and outside the Memorial Area to prepare for the installation of the stage. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must complete the installation of equipment for the documentary exhibition inside the ship before October 12, 2024. The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department is responsible for directing the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial Radio and Television Station to finalize the documentary film according to the approved script, to be completed before October 18, 2024.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for preparing the conditions for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Memorial Area for the people, cadres, soldiers and students from the South who relocated to the North.

The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department directed and guided news agencies, newspapers, and websites of departments and agencies to intensify propaganda work regarding the commemoration ceremony. Thanh Hoa Newspaper is preparing to publish a special issue.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also assigned specific tasks to units in implementing the detailed program and script for the commemoration ceremony; the commemoration speech; the artistic program at the commemoration ceremony; coordination with Vietnam Television to organize the live broadcast of the commemoration ceremony on VTV1; ensuring security, traffic safety, and fire prevention for the commemoration ceremony... Protocol and logistics for the commemoration ceremony need to be well prepared in all aspects. Departments, agencies, and localities should demonstrate the highest level of spirit and responsibility to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
