Bac Giang Electricity Company conducts disaster prevention and search and rescue drills

BAC GIANG - On April 12, Bac Giang Power Company organized a drill on natural disaster prevention, search and rescue - incident handling - safety - information technology at the company level in 2025. Attending were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade and Bac Giang Power Company. The drill was supervised by the Northern Power Corporation and several other units.

More than 120 officers and employees of the Company participated in the exercise with a hypothetical situation of being affected by a natural disaster in the area, causing the machine to cut off the source.

Natural disasters caused breakdowns and required replacement of distribution transformers; broken wires and broken porcelain in the poles of medium voltage lines that needed to be handled and replaced; broken porcelain caused a circuit breaker on the 110 kV line; broken fiber optic cable on the main line affected data transmission and remote control at the 110 kV transformer station, causing partial loss of the transformer station signal connected to the remote control center, requiring the use of the Hotline construction method for repair; during the inspection and handling of the incident, a worker slipped and broke his leg, requiring initial first aid and bandages.

Thanks to careful preparation, with the motto "four on-site", the units followed the correct procedures for each situation, so the drill was successful.

The drill met the following requirements: Minimizing damage caused by natural disasters; mobilizing sufficient human resources, materials, and means to quickly fix power grid and telecommunications system problems; quickly restoring power to localities; ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment; fully implementing the steps to fix power grid problems according to regulations; and providing first aid to victims.

Lessons learned in the drills help units consolidate experience, provide solutions, assessments and the best plans to quickly overcome the consequences of incidents and promptly provide electricity to customers.

At the same time, train skills, expertise, and professional style; improve the effectiveness of coordination, mobilize internal resources, and coordinate with local authorities in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

This is also an opportunity for Bac Giang Electricity Company to inspect and evaluate the work of preparation, command, response, prevention, control and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, and handling incidents. Thereby, drawing experience and proposing specific solutions to achieve the main goals such as: Quickly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, promptly restoring power supply, improving reliability and customer satisfaction, ensuring absolute safety for people, minimizing property damage caused by natural disasters.
