Song Chu One-Member Limited Liability Company (hereinafter referred to as Song Chu Company) is a 100% state-owned enterprise with the function and nhiệm vụ of managing, exploiting, and protecting irrigation systems with a total of 940 staff and workers in 18 districts and cities (including 8 mountainous districts). The system under its management includes 76 reservoirs and dams, 204 pumping stations with 495 pumps of various types; 8 large drainage systems such as Ngoc Giap, Quang Chau, Truong Le, Kenh Than... to serve irrigation and drainage for nearly 140,000 hectares of cultivated land. In addition to the main tasks mentioned above, the company also provides water for domestic use and power generation in the area and industrial zones.

In 2024, the company's managed irrigation systems were generally operating safely, with water resources managed effectively to meet the needs of socio-economic sectors. For the Bai Thuong system, the company collaborated effectively with the Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 3, Cua Dat Hydropower Plant, Xuan Minh Hydropower Plant, and Bai Thuong Hydropower Joint Stock Company to develop a water extraction plan via the hydropower plants, adjusting the plan monthly to suit the water requirements of the Bai Thuong irrigation system and downstream areas. For the Song Muc, Yen My irrigation systems and other reservoir and dam systems, the company developed irrigation plans and created specific, detailed irrigation schedules for each stage and period, ensuring they were appropriate to the actual situation.

In 2024, the company provided irrigation and drainage services for agricultural production on an area of ​​130,759 hectares; the value of public irrigation services reached VND 117.4 billion; water supply for industrial production and daily life reached 45.167 million ^m³ /year; revenue from water supply for industry, daily life, and power generation reached VND 56.7 billion; maintenance and repair of works reached 47,900 man-hours; regular self-repair work amounted to 15,950 man-hours... In 2024, the company performed well in disaster response.

With the goal of managing and operating irrigation systems efficiently and safely, and directing irrigation and drainage activities scientifically and flexibly to ensure sufficient water supply for agricultural production, industry, daily life, and other tasks, in 2025, Song Chu Company has set out 7 key tasks and solutions, such as: Continuing to proactively build and effectively implement detailed irrigation and drainage plans for each crop, for each canal and each structure, in accordance with reality. Improving the efficiency of management and operation of irrigation systems. Maintaining, repairing, and renovating structures. Enhancing disaster response capacity, applying science, and digital transformation. Regularly reviewing the irrigated and drainage areas and structures of each unit and ensuring that contracts are signed and acceptances are carried out correctly. Coordinating with local authorities to disseminate regulations on the protection of irrigation structures. Effectively implement solutions to control sources of pollution and wastewater discharge into water sources, especially domestic and industrial wastewater...

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the irrigation work of Song Chu Company in 2024, specifically identifying the advantages and difficulties in disaster prevention and control, management and operation of works, irrigation and drainage management, and coordination between the company and state management agencies, People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities within the company's area of ​​operation, contributing to the successful implementation of tasks and solutions for 2025.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoai Nam suggested that, regarding the management and protection of irrigation works, Song Chu Company should continue to direct its branches in charge of areas requiring attention to detect violations early and report them immediately regarding violations of irrigation works' corridors; and coordinate with management agencies at all levels to promptly demarcate and handle violations.
