The spectacular comeback
Returning from the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the 2025 National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, joy was clearly present on Minh Trang's face. This year's Reading Culture Ambassador Contest attracted nearly 1.2 million contestants from about 8,700 educational institutions nationwide. Being selected and present at the award ceremony is the dream of many students. Therefore, when her name was announced for the highest prize, Trang's emotions seemed to burst.
“The Organizing Committee arranged to present the secondary awards first. When I received the announcement that I had won the most impressive video clip award, I thought this was probably my highest achievement. Unexpectedly, at the last minute, my name was called again,” Minh Trang said.
Before coming to the national award ceremony, Minh Trang's entry had convinced the judges, successively winning first prize in the reading culture ambassador contest at the city level, then at the provincial level. Therefore, when the entry was sent out, those who had watched Trang's video clip had high expectations.

Winning a high prize at the 2025 National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest marks Minh Trang's spectacular return. Previously, in 2024, when she first came to this contest, Trang won second prize at the city level and third prize at the provincial level. Transforming into the character of Vo Thi Sau to introduce her favorite book, the little girl who was only in first grade at that time made many people moved. This time, the emotions that Minh Trang brought were considered to be even more... abundant.
Minh Trang said that at this year’s contest, she introduced the book “The Story of Ten Girls at Dong Loc Crossroads”. To fully appreciate the book, she spent a lot of time reading and pondering. Trang also went with her parents to Ha Tinh to listen to the stories of the female youth volunteers and their heroic sacrifices.
“When I heard the story, I remembered every sentence and every word in the book I had read. Tears kept flowing as I shared my feelings with everyone,” Minh Trang confided.
Germination from sowing
Minh Trang’s success can be considered the sweet fruit of a long journey of “sowing seeds”. Trang’s parents are both tour guides, living in Dong Ha ward. Understanding the importance of books, when Trang was little, her parents spent time reading stories to her every night. Later, when she could read and write fluently, her father and mother were always her companions.
Thanks to her parents' care, Minh Trang has built a good habit. Every day, she spends at least 30 minutes reading books. This is also Trang's way to rest and relax after school. Every time she reads a book, she feels like she is entering a new, fascinating, and interesting world. Trang also often exchanges and discusses with her parents about the good things in books.
“My husband and I are very happy to see that our child loves books. The number of books in our house is increasing, proportional to the growth of our children,” said Nguyen Kim Chi, Trang’s mother.
In particular, Trang's love of books has been nurtured by Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School. Ms. Le Thi Ha Phuong, Head of the Youth Union, said that recently, the school's staff and teachers have regularly organized activities to spread the love of books. The school library is always open to students. Teachers encourage students to have notebooks to record their feelings about the books they have read. "Minh Trang's achievements are the motivation for the school to make more efforts," Ms. Phuong affirmed.
Multi-talented "Ambassador"
According to Ms. Le Thi Ha Phuong, Head of the Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School Team, before winning the “double” at the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2025, Minh Trang was already a “young reading culture ambassador” at school. During class or extracurricular activities, she and her teachers have many times inspired and inspired her friends with passion.
“Almost everyone who has met Trang can clearly feel her love for books. She also has a good, expressive reading voice, a natural demeanor, and good ability to perceive…”, Ms. Phuong commented.
Ms. Ha Phuong added that, not only did Minh Trang impress with her love of books, she was also very talented. When she first entered Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School, she won first prize in the "Child Talent Search" contest organized by the school with her piano and singing talent. Later, Trang also won a high prize at the "Golden Apricot Blossom Singing" festival in 2024 organized by the Provincial Children's House, now the Quang Tri Youth Activity Center. From here, she was "chosen to be trusted", joined the Bird Club and participated in many major competitions and performances. Most recently, Trang and her friends brought home excellent results for the Quang Tri delegation at the 2025 National Children's Arts Festival.
With her impressive achievements, Dao Minh Trang is a shining example for many children to follow. However, every time she receives compliments, Trang still humbly believes that what she has achieved is still small. Day after day, the “young reading culture ambassador” continues to strive to instill the passion in her peers.
