Currently, on average, 300-400 tourists visit and stay at Tan Hiep island commune every day. On weekends, the number of tourists visiting the island increases, up to nearly 1,000 a day. Notably, the number of international tourists visiting the island is higher than that of domestic tourists.
Not only at destinations in Bai Lang, Bai Ong, Bai Xep villages, ... in remote places like Bai Huong village, every day there are also more than 100 tourists coming to visit and stay, mainly international visitors.
“The number of visitors to the island has increased in recent times compared to the same period last year. Hopefully, this summer, more tourists will come to Cu Lao Cham,” said Mr. Phan Hung, Director of Ngan Ha Tourism Company, in Bai Lang village, Tan Hiep commune.

According to Ms. Pham Thi My Huong - Chairwoman of Tan Hiep Commune People's Committee, the current living conditions of the islanders are relatively stable because they have multiple jobs. Although tourism has improved, it is not commensurate with the potential of Cu Lao Cham.
There are still many difficulties when the locality has to complete the procedures for announcing the water surface management area, new regulations on transportation, port operations, tourist vehicles, investment in building new products, organizing services for the people, etc.
“In the coming time, we will focus on many solutions to promote tourism and especially focus on investing in infrastructure.
In particular, finding solutions to overcome the limitations in tourism development to promote the key economic sector of the commune to develop more and more. Hopefully, Cu Lao Cham tourism will flourish with many effective solutions from the government, and the number of tourists coming here will increase in the coming summer" - Ms. Huong said.
