General Phan Van Giang, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense, sent a letter of commendation to the Political Department of Military Region 4 on the occasion of its 80th anniversary.
Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Doan Xuan Buong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 4, along with representatives of the leadership of Military Region 4 from various periods; and representatives of agencies, units, and localities in the region.

Eighty years ago, on December 16, 1945, the Political Department of Military Region 4 was established with the initial task of guiding, organizing, and mobilizing ideological support, consolidating and arranging the cadre in armed units, and expanding the Party's activities and influence among members and the people. This is an important event marking the birth and development of the Political Department of Military Region 4.

Delivering a speech at the commemoration ceremony, Major General Pham Van Dong, Head of the Political Department of Military Region 4, affirmed that over 80 years of building, fighting, winning, and maturing, Military Region 4 has affirmed the particularly important role of Party work, political work, and the responsibility of the Political Department, political agencies, and political cadres at all levels in consolidating, maintaining, and strengthening the absolute and direct leadership of the Party in all aspects; building strong armed forces in the Military Region in terms of politics; building political and spiritual factors, the fundamental elements that determine the fighting strength and victory of the Military Region's armed forces; making Party work and political work truly the "soul and lifeblood" in all activities of the Military Region's armed forces.

For its outstanding achievements and contributions to the national liberation, construction, and defense of the Fatherland, the Political Department of Military Region 4 has been awarded many prestigious honors by the Party, the State, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Military Region: 2 Military Merit Orders; 3 Combat Merit Orders; 1 Labor Order; and the Order of National Defense, Second and Third Class. Many collectives and individuals of the Department have also received other prestigious awards.
At the commemoration ceremony, the Political Department of Military Region 4 was honored to receive the First Class Order of National Defense awarded by the Party and State for its outstanding achievements in training, combat readiness, building the People's Army, strengthening national defense, and contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Doan Xuan Buong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 4, emphasized: The history of the formation and development of the Political Department of Military Region 4 is an endless source of courage, intelligence, and unwavering loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people. From December 16, 1945, when the Political Department - the predecessor of the Political Department - was established, to the present day, 80 years have passed, but the spirit and courage of the early days remain intact. Imbued with the ideology that "Party work and political work are the soul and lifeblood of the Army," generations of officers, staff, and soldiers of the Political Department have overcome countless hardships and sacrifices, always remaining steadfast in combat; creative in advising, directing, and guiding; and achieving many glorious victories and accomplishments, contributing to building a politically strong armed force in the Military Region and successfully fulfilling all assigned tasks...
