Vietnam National Administration of Tourism works on night-time economic development in Lam Dong

On the afternoon of September 10, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism had a working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and a number of departments, branches and localities on the implementation of the Project "Some models for developing night tourism products" in Lam Dong province.

At the meeting, a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province said that recently, night-time economic models have initially achieved certain successes and effectiveness.

Some models are relatively attractive destinations, visitors can directly participate in cultural activities, arts, games; experience watching Da Lat night scene, enjoy music and shop for specialties and local goods. The new types have received positive feedback and reviews from traders, businesses and visitors.

Implementing the Project, up to now, Lam Dong has implemented 5 models including: Performing arts; sports, health care, beauty; shopping, night entertainment; night tourism; introducing culinary culture, night food services.

In recent times, Lam Dong has promoted solutions to implement the Project such as: Diversifying night tourism products; developing infrastructure and services; attracting investment and socialization; creating momentum for economic growth and attracting visitors.

At the working session, representatives of wards: Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat; Lam Vien - Da Lat; Lang Biang - Da Lat; Xuan Truong - Da Lat mentioned some advantages and difficulties in implementing the Project in local management.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also recommended that the Provincial People's Committee pay attention to directing the completion of planning and calling for investment in developing a plan for Tran Quoc Toan walking street with activities such as: Art performances, commercial booth models with beautifully decorated train cars and lake sightseeing activities by decorated boats.

In addition, complete the investment calling plan for the Light Park to form a landscape park area combined with a new, more modern and beautiful parking lot and night market; complete the planning of Lu Gia Residential Area; plan night infrastructure in key tourist areas; prioritize investment in artistic lighting systems, centralized parking lots, security cameras, etc.

The unit also proposed to soon direct the functional sectors to continue to pay attention to studying and removing obstacles and difficulties for businesses in implementing investment in night-time economic models. In particular, encourage businesses in Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, Lam Vien Square area, Mui Ne National Tourist Area to develop new, high-class night-time services, especially high-class services that serve all night.

For the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province proposed that the Government issue mechanisms and policies to encourage and support units participating in night-time economic activities, especially activities from after 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning.

After listening to the reports and recommendations of departments, branches and wards, representatives of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches and localities in implementing the Project.

At the same time, the difficulties and obstacles raised by departments, branches and localities will be resolved one by one and appropriate solutions and directions will be provided in the coming time. Regarding other recommendations, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will compile and promptly resolve them as soon as possible.
