Chow Hoi-mei entered the entertainment industry after participating in the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1985 and appeared in many TV series on TVB (Hong Kong) in the 1980s and 1990s.
Following the success of the TV series *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber* (1994), Zhou Haimei became a star and gained fame throughout the continent for her role as Zhou Zhiruo. She continued to achieve success with *The Empress of China*, *Ashes of Love*, *The Legend of Dunhuang*, and more.
In 2001, the actress decided to leave Hong Kong (China) to pursue her career in mainland China. She returned to Hong Kong in 2008 to work. Besides her successful film career, Zhou Haimei is also considered one of the most beautiful and charismatic female stars in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.
The 57-year-old star is admired by many for her strong and independent image. Although she hasn't acted in films regularly in recent years, she possesses a considerable fortune.
According to HK01, Zhou Haimei holds nearly $70 million in assets, including real estate, stocks, and cash in banks, thanks to her shrewdness and intelligence.
Before her death, the actress lived in a spacious and comfortable villa in Beijing, China. She was known to be a great dog lover and owned five furry dogs. The former TVB star often shared clips and images of her daily life, such as cooking, gardening, and playing with her pets.

A talented and charismatic beauty, Zhou Haimei was pursued by many. She had a short-lived marriage with her colleague, Lü Liangwei. They met on the set of the drama "The Island Blooms in the Wind ," when Zhou Haimei was only 19 years old.
After three years together, they registered their marriage in Las Vegas, but the marriage only lasted a few months. "I probably wasn't suited to marrying a man with children," Chau Hoi-my shared when they divorced.
After their divorce, Zhou Haimei and her ex-husband remained colleagues and friends, continuing to collaborate. Following her only marriage, she also dated several other people, including those working both inside and outside the entertainment industry.
However, these relationships couldn't change the actress's declaration of not getting married or having children. A close source revealed that the failure of her first marriage left Zhou Haimei feeling insecure in relationships with men and afraid of getting married a second time.

In 2010, Zhou Haimei unexpectedly revealed that she was in love and dating a man 18 years younger than her, but this relationship quickly faded into oblivion.
A friend of Zhou Haimei claims that the "Zhou Zhiruo" actress's later relationships broke down because she firmly refused the word "marriage." "He proposed to me many times, but I wasn't mentally ready to become a wife, so I declined," she revealed.
The actress also expressed her views on not having children: "I am a freedom-loving person and don't want to be controlled. Moreover, since I was 16, I discovered that I have a congenitally lower platelet count than normal, so having children would be extremely risky for me."
Most of us go through the process of getting married and having children, but it's not the only option. At my age, getting married wouldn't allow me to have children anymore. So, I think there's no need to get married again."
