"Traffic Safety" model and initiative contest in Bac Ninh province in 2023

With the aim of seeking ideas, initiatives, and technological solutions to address existing traffic problems in the province, the Department of Information and Communications of Bac Ninh province recently issued a plan to organize the "Bac Ninh Province Traffic Safety Model and Initiative Competition 2023".

In order to effectively implement Directive No. 18/CT-TƯ dated September 4, 2012, of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of ensuring traffic safety on roads, railways, inland waterways and overcoming traffic congestion"; and Directive No. 23-CT/TW dated May 25, 2023, of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of ensuring traffic safety in the new situation.

Recently, the Department of Information and Communications of Bac Ninh province issued a plan to organize the "Traffic Safety" model and initiative competition in Bac Ninh province in 2023. The competition aims to encourage the development of capabilities and creative spirit in initiatives in the management and operation of infrastructure and transportation vehicles... in order to create solutions to ensure traffic order and safety, and to overcome and resolve traffic safety issues.

The competition includes four themes: Solutions for preventing and combating traffic congestion; Solutions for raising awareness and responsibility among road users; Solutions for detecting and preventing drunk driving; and Solutions for detecting and preventing oversized, overloaded, and passenger-insufficient vehicles.

The competition is open to departments, agencies, organizations, localities, and individuals inside and outside Bac Ninh province who have implemented or plan to implement traffic safety initiatives in Bac Ninh province.

In May 2023, the competition was officially launched with the hope that, through the competition, the content of the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution, the Provincial People's Committee's Plan, and the Central and provincial directives on building a "Traffic Safety Province" would be effectively disseminated. The submission period was from May 2023 to September 30, 2023.

From October 1-15, 2023: Preliminary Round. From October 16-26, 2023: Semi-final Round. From October 27 to November 3: Final Round. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place at the end of November 2023.

The large-scale competition has a total prize value of 164 million VND, including 1 first prize of 40 million VND; 2 second prizes of 30 million VND; 2 third prizes of 20 million VND; and 3 consolation prizes of 8 million VND.

The judging panel will include leaders from the Department of Information and Communications and its specialized departments; leaders from specialized departments of the Provincial Police; leaders from specialized departments of the Department of Transport; leaders from specialized departments of the Department of Science and Technology, the Traffic Safety Board, and a number of specialized experts.

The competition was organized with the hope of mobilizing collective strength, encouraging participation from agencies, units, organizations, and individuals in the province, seeking out good and effective models, promptly rewarding and publicizing them, and replicating them to create a ripple effect for effective application in practice.

To help people improve their understanding of traffic safety regulations, raise awareness of traffic safety laws, enhance citizens' responsibility when participating in traffic, and build a civilized, modern, and safe traffic culture.
