On August 15, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the “Identity” contest to encourage and mobilize the broad participation of the community in learning, preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity; contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day; creating an environment for the community to express their love for their homeland and country through forms of expression suitable for the digital age trend.
The contest is designed with two main parts to ensure diversity and appeal: Vodcast "Identity Dialogue" and Quiz "Identity Understanding."
Vodcast "Identity Dialogue" is a creative competition, encouraging contestants to produce short videos (Vodcasts) to share experiences, stories and unique perspectives on topics related to Vietnamese cultural identity. The Organizing Committee hopes that this will be a multi-dimensional forum, where traditional values are connected with contemporary culture.

The "Understanding Identity" test will focus on knowledge about Vietnamese history, culture, arts, tourism and people. The questions also cover the outstanding achievements of the Cultural sector over the past 80 years, helping participants consolidate and expand their knowledge.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huu Ngoc said that the Organizing Committee hopes to receive the attention and support of journalists, reporters and editors in introducing and spreading the "Identity" Contest to the public, contributing to honoring and preserving national cultural identity.
"The contest is expected to become a powerful media highlight, arousing interest and learning about national culture on digital platforms. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism expects 'Identity' to become a meaningful media highlight, arousing national pride, love for Vietnamese culture, and at the same time creating an environment for connecting the community on modern, fair and creative digital platforms," Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc emphasized.
The contest is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living, studying and working in Vietnam, regardless of age, gender or occupation. The time for receiving works is from August 15, 2025 to August 25, 2025. The time for organizing Vodcast voting and knowledge contest is from August 28, 2025 to September 6, 2025.
