On the morning of April 16th, at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Lang Son), General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , along with a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, performed the ceremonial salute and painted border marker 1116, marking the beginning of activities within the framework of the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

Shortly afterwards, the high-level delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence crossed the Huu Nghi International Border Gate into China to participate in exchange activities. A solemn farewell ceremony was held at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

The exchange program took place over two days, April 16-17, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and Lang Son province (Vietnam).
In China, the high-level delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence will visit the Friendship Pass Tourist Area; visit the Friendship Pass Border Guard Company; witness the naval patrol teams of the two countries reporting online before conducting joint patrols; plant friendship trees; visit the smart border gate at Friendship Pass; visit Primary School No. 4 in Pingxiang City; and visit the model village of Chu Lian, Ningming County.
