The Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that on November 6, Deputy Director of the Department of Water Resources Management Ngo Manh Ha signed an official dispatch to units managing and operating reservoirs in the Se San and Srepok river basins.
According to the official dispatch, currently, large reservoirs in the Se San river basin (Upper Kon Tum , PleiKrong, Ialy, Se San 4) and Srepok (Buon Tua Srah, Srepok 3, Krong Buk Ha) have low water levels or approximately the pre-flood water levels.
However, tonight (November 6) to the morning of November 7, storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) will affect the mainland provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak.
In the coming days, many areas from Thanh Hoa to Khanh Hoa are likely to have heavy rain, floods may appear on rivers from Quang Tri to Lam Dong.

To proactively prevent and limit damage caused by floods, the Department of Water Resources Management recommends that reservoir operators proactively calculate, develop regulation scenarios, and closely coordinate with competent authorities to ensure safety of works and reduce downstream flooding.
The Department of Water Resources Management recommends strictly implementing the inter-reservoir operation process, ensuring absolute safety for the project, minimizing damage to people and property in downstream areas, and promptly warning before releasing floodwaters, generating electricity or increasing discharge flow.
Units need to proactively provide operational information and regulation plans to the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO) and power system dispatch centers to ensure effective mobilization of power sources, safe, economical and multi-purpose operation.
