This festival is also the cradle of the dance "Con dy danh bong" - one of the 10 ancient dances of ancient Thang Long land, reserved for men only. This year's festival celebrates the 1244th anniversary of the day Saint Phung Hung ascended the throne, attracting a large number of local people and tourists to attend. The annual festival takes place in early spring in Trieu Khuc village, Tan Trieu commune, Thanh Tri district.

The Trieu Khuc village festival originated from the story of King Phung Hung's uprising to drive out the Tang invaders. To celebrate each victory and to encourage the army, King Phung had his soldiers dress up as women, wearing drums to dance and sing. Since then, to commemorate his merits, the villagers have organized a procession of Thanh Hoang every spring, which includes the typical dance "con viet danh bong" (prostitute playing bong) performed by the young men of the village.

The festival has existed for many years with many ancient rituals passed down through generations, beginning with a procession of palanquins to show the reverence of the people of Trieu Khuc to King Phung Hung.

The general holding the silver sword walked in front of the palanquin carrying King Phung Hung.

The two teams of female musicians each play the zither.

Many dragon dances, lion dances, and cultural performances were presented at the festival. Among them, the most important was the "con đĩ đánh bồng" drum dance.

The dance, performed by the young men of Trieu Khuc, has remained unchanged over time. Each dance troupe must have at least six "dancers," who are unmarried, handsome, well-behaved, and respectable young men from good families.

The boys put on makeup and lipstick to pretend to be girls. Their dancing movements must be graceful and soft, yet also free and flexible, and no less powerful.

This year, 10 dance pairs are participating in the festival.

People excitedly watched the procession of Bo Cai Dai Vuong. After the dance, people will carry Bo Cai Dai Vuong Phung Hung's palanquin back to the village communal house.
