Many customers said that the process of registering to buy gold online was very difficult, even after being patient for dozens of times, they were still unsuccessful. Since then, groups of "registering for slots to buy gold from banks" appeared on social networks, these people advertised the fee for successful registration from 250,000 to 400,000 VND.
The AN account owner on the group "Exchanging SJC, PNJ, DOJI gold bars without intermediaries" said that he accepts registrations for 4-5 slots per day, with all 4 banks VietinBank, BIDV, Vietcombank, Agribank .
N. said the fee for registering on behalf of someone else is 300,000 VND/person. The gold will be collected after 2 days of successful online registration and receiving a gold purchase voucher at the bank. With a short procedure, the buyer will have an email created for him/her, then provide full information such as: full name, date of birth, citizen identification number and permanent residence for the person registering on behalf of someone else.
After receiving a successful registration notification via email, the buyer will go to the bank to check the information, pay the amount of gold according to the purchase needs and receive a gold purchase voucher directly from the bank.
Account owner N. said: “We are a little luckier than those who register on their own. Recently, registering for gold has become increasingly difficult. One day, my group registers for about 10 people, and 7-9 of them win the slot, a success rate of about 80%.”
The account owner named LG said that if the buyer registers via BIDV and a bank card, they can receive gold within the day. However, this person requires that the customer's account must have enough money to buy the same amount of gold as the bank sells each time.
It is worth mentioning that LG requires customers to provide an OTP code for an account with a balance of about 80 million to register on behalf of others. The reason given by this person registering on behalf of others is that registering for a gold purchase slot at BIDV is easier to win. When the customer said he wanted to buy gold at the other 3 banks because they did not require an account with a balance enough to buy 1 amount of SJC gold bars, this person said it would be difficult to succeed.
Mr. H., a person who used this service, said he was afraid of the risk that if the person registering for him had the OTP code, there was a possibility of money being stolen from the account, so he refused to provide it.
Meanwhile, the LG account owner convinced that, in order to register to buy gold online through BIDV bank, "both parties must have trust in each other".
According to a survey conducted by PV on forums, many middle-aged people are willing to hire someone to register for them because they are not proficient in technology. Although the cost is not too high, it still carries many potential risks.
However, there are also cases where people successfully register to buy gold but do not come to pick up the goods.
Previously, the price of SJC gold bars in the free market was always higher than the price at banks by about 4 million VND/tael. However, on August 14, on the groups that directly exchange and buy SJC gold bars, the "brokers" declared to buy at only 80.5 million VND/tael.
Faced with this phenomenon, some members who registered for others declared a “temporary suspension” of transactions. The number of people “hunting” for online gold registration slots has also decreased significantly.
Many people speculate that this could be a 'trick' of some people to lower the buying price.
The leader of a Big 4 bank once warned people to be extremely vigilant when buying and selling gold on the open market, buying and reselling at locations that are not licensed to buy and sell gold.
In addition, customers need to pay attention to the regulations of receiving gold after 2 days of successful registration of banks. If buying for speculation, while gold prices fluctuate unpredictably, there will be risks.
