Facing a highly motivated Myanmar team, the Vietnamese women's team started proactively and employed a rather shrewd strategy. Their ability to capitalize on opportunities helped them make the difference in the 9th minute, when Van Su headed the ball into the far corner, beating goalkeeper Myo Mya Mya Nyein and opening the scoring.
Riding on their momentum, Coach Mai Duc Chung's team continued to press forward, and from Hoang Thi Loan's effort to win the ball, the Myanmar goalkeeper lost his balance, and Bich Thuy easily increased the score to 2-0. In the remaining time of the match, the Vietnamese women's team had a few more opportunities, but Hai Yen and Ngoc Minh Chuyen both failed to capitalize.

At the end of Group B of the women's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team topped the group and will face Indonesia in the semi-finals, while the Philippines will face the host team Thailand. Both semi-final matches will take place at the Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok) on December 14th.
