Experts and guests attending the workshop
On May 26, Hong Bang International University coordinated with the Vietnam Medical Association and the Institute for Medical Technology Assessment and Application Research to organize the international workshop "Application of medical technology assessment at the hospital level: Experience in the world and current situation in Vietnam".
More than 200 senior medical staff and domestic and foreign experts attended the workshop.
At the workshop, experts from Russia, Thailand, Singapore... said that in the world , health technology assessment in general and budget impact analysis have been considered important tools for the process of setting priorities and planning health policies, especially in building health insurance benefit packages for medicines.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hong Bang International University, said that to develop the health sector and care for the community in terms of quality and quantity, many factors are needed, in which evaluating medical technology is one of the specific and necessary solutions to improve the quality of health care services.
Medical technology assessment will contribute to solving the problem in the context of limited budget resources, increasing medical costs, but still ensuring the best medical care and intervention for patients. This is not only an issue that hospitals and the medical sector are concerned about, but also a "hot" issue for the whole society.
Ms. Thuy also added that in order for the development of health policies, especially the development of health insurance benefit packages, to have breakthrough changes, to be increasingly transparent, based on clear scientific evidence, to ensure the harmonious interests of all relevant parties, and to ensure the affordability of the health insurance fund, the development of a health technology assessment system is very necessary and important.
Within the framework of the program, there is also a seminar on "Supply of drugs and medical supplies in Vietnam - Current situation and solutions". The seminar aims to promote the best use of drugs and medical supplies for patients.
