The conference took place from September 30 to October 1, with the participation of more than 200 delegates, observers and members of the organizing committee. Acting as representatives from many countries, members of the European Parliament and journalists from major newsrooms, the delegates had two days of lively discussions on current global hot issues.
Specifically, delegates from the four councils at DOS 2023 discussed and proposed solutions to various issues: decolonization and demilitarization of the African continent in the 1960s (UNGA); development of global standards for 5G networks and technologies (ITU); enhancement of digital skills in the digital single market (EP); responsibility in the use of surveillance technology by states and non-state actors (DISEC).
Meanwhile, the “International Federation of Journalists” group covered the two UNGA and EP assemblies, and held press conferences to ask questions directly to delegates.
At the end of the conference, delegates unanimously approved many draft resolutions. In addition, many international articles were published and unexpected developments took place at the crisis councils, helping delegates have a memorable experience when participating in DOS 2023.
Afterwards, a Gala to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the club was held in a very solemn and warm atmosphere with the participation of former members, instructors and long-time partners of the club. This was an opportunity to connect DAVMUN members to look back on the past journey and the future development direction of the club.
After a decade of construction and development, DAVMUN has become the oldest academic club at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, creating a professional environment for young people to practice diplomatic skills and thinking through each simulated meeting with quality in both form and content.
During that time, DAVMUN has always strived to promote the achieved values and continue to strengthen its membership to develop an increasingly strong MUN community, as well as bring this academic playground to more people.
The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DOS) Open Simulation Conference is the largest annual event of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Model United Nations (DAVMUN) Club. This is an academic playground for students nationwide, where they can play the role of diplomats to learn, debate and propose solutions to hot global issues. DAV OPEN SIMULATION 2023 with the theme The Glorious Decade is an event marking the 10-year milestone of DAVMUN's operation and development and the journey to bring the United Nations model closer to young people who are passionate about learning about the world and want to become true diplomats. |
