Free swimming lessons for 130 children in difficult circumstances

On July 18, at Tang Bat Ho swimming pool area, Hanoi Youth Palace coordinated with Bang Linh Sports and Entertainment Joint Stock Company to organize the opening of the Free Swimming and Drowning Prevention Class for disadvantaged children in 2023 in the city.

Speaking at the program, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hanoi City, Deputy Director of Hanoi Youth Palace Tran Phuc Loc said that this activity aims to continue implementing the direction of the Government and Hanoi People's Committee on the prevention of drowning in children and the program of popularizing swimming for youth and children in Hanoi.

Hanoi Youth Palace and coordinating units will organize management, guidance, and teaching swimming to prevent drowning and ensure safety, quality, and effectiveness for children; strive to complete the course so that 100% of participating children have knowledge and skills in preventing drowning and 80-90% of children can swim proficiently.

Since 2012, the Swimming and Drowning Prevention Class for disadvantaged children in the capital has been one of the annual activities organized free of charge by the Hanoi Youth Palace. Joining hands in this practical and meaningful activity, over the past 11 years, there has been the contribution of Bang Linh Sports and Entertainment Joint Stock Company, Hanoi City Youth Council, Youth Union, and Youth Councils of districts and towns in the capital.

130 children get free swimming lessons.

Right after the opening ceremony, 130 children from 4 districts: Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Tay Ho, Dong Da were divided into 4 shifts, participating in 12 exciting and enjoyable swimming lessons. They also learned skills to prevent drowning, improve their health and fitness...

The closing ceremony of the 2023 Swimming and Drowning Prevention Class for Children in Difficult Circumstances will be held on July 31, 2023. The Organizing Committee will issue certificates to qualified students.
