We propose that the Ministry of Transport strictly control airfare prices and review the cost structure of air tickets of airlines to regulate appropriate fares.
Concerns have arisen about the potential for outbreaks and spread of measles and whooping cough.
On the afternoon of August 19th, the 36th session continued. National Assembly Standing Committee Review the National Assembly's report on citizen petitions in July 2024.

According to the Head of the People's Petition Committee, Duong Thanh Binh, voters and the public have expressed that 2024 is a crucial year for successfully fulfilling the tasks of the entire 2021-2026 term.
With renewed faith, enthusiasm, and motivation, we are confident that, under the correct, close, and timely leadership and guidance of the Party; the proactive, supportive, flexible, close, and effective supervision of the National Assembly; the decisive, effective, and efficient management, direction, and operation of the Government; the close coordination of all sectors, levels, and localities; the synchronized involvement of the entire political system; and the efforts and endeavors of the entire Party, people, army, and business community, as well as our compatriots abroad, our country will certainly overcome difficulties and challenges, achieve the highest possible results in socio-economic development goals for 2024, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Party congresses at all levels.
Voters and the people are deeply saddened and mourn the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong – an outstanding and highly respected leader of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam; a steadfast and exemplary communist who dedicated his entire life to the Party, the country, and the people. As the head of the Party, he, together with the Politburo and the Central Committee, successfully formulated and led the implementation of strategic goals in Party building and rectification.
Voters and the people expressed their trust and joy at Comrade To Lam's election as General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam with an absolute majority of votes. Voters and the people expect Comrade To Lam to inherit and build upon the revolutionary achievements established by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and previous generations of leaders; to maintain unity and cohesion; and, together with the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, to resolutely lead and guide the entire Party, people, and army to successfully achieve the goals and tasks set forth by the 13th National Party Congress, successfully organize the 14th National Congress, and lead the country steadily forward in the new development phase.
Voters and the public are very interested in the foreign affairs activities of the Party and State leaders; they highly appreciate the commemorative activities of Party committees and local authorities nationwide on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs.
However, voters and the public continue to worry about the potential outbreak and spread of measles and whooping cough, the increase in dengue fever; heavy rains and landslides causing loss of life and property in Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Hanoi; tornadoes causing significant damage in Ben Tre and Tien Giang provinces; successive earthquakes occurring in several localities nationwide, especially in Kon Tum province; riverbank, canal, and coastal erosion in the Mekong Delta; and particularly serious labor accidents.
In addition, the shortage of vaccines for children in the Expanded Immunization Program in some localities poses a risk of outbreaks of several dangerous diseases in children; the situation of drug prices at medical facilities, clinics, pharmacies, etc., is inconsistent and varies; airfare The high cost of domestic air travel has directly impacted people's travel needs, especially during peak seasons and holidays.
The use of electric motorbikes by students is becoming increasingly common, leading to a rise in traffic accidents involving electric motorbikes; online scams continue to occur with increasingly sophisticated methods; and illegal sand mining on rivers is becoming more complex, employing sophisticated tactics to evade authorities...
We propose stricter controls on airfare prices.
Mr. Duong Thanh Binh also stated that, based on reports from voter outreach sessions following the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly by the National Assembly delegations of provinces and centrally-administered cities, the People's Petition Committee has compiled 831 voter petitions. After reviewing and classifying them, the People's Petition Committee promptly forwarded these petitions to the relevant authorities for resolution in accordance with the law. The People's Petition Committee will monitor and urge the resolution and response to voter petitions within the specified timeframe.
The agencies of the National Assembly and the National Assembly delegations received and processed 2,451 complaints, denunciations, petitions, and feedback from citizens (a decrease of 1,188 compared to June 2024); of which 537 were eligible for processing, and 1,914 were ineligible and were archived according to regulations.
At the meeting, the People's Petition Committee recommended that the Standing Committee of the National Assembly request the Government and the Prime Minister to pay attention to and direct the implementation of several issues of current concern to voters, specifically as follows: Ministries and agencies should implement stricter management measures for sand mining, equip them with modern equipment, strengthen inspection and supervision, and increase penalties and strictly handle violations to deter and limit the rampant sand mining currently taking place; and implement strict management measures to prevent the leakage of information, especially mobile phone numbers of users.
Ministry of Health Early research should be conducted on the arrangement and allocation of vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program for children under 5 years old to protect children and prevent dangerous infectious diseases; specific regulations should be implemented to tighten drug price management to ensure transparency in the circulation of drugs on the market, while protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and consumers, because drugs are a special type of commodity directly related to human health and life.
The Ministry of Public Security is strengthening its management of traffic activities, improving patrol, inspection, control, and handling of violations, particularly for students using electric motorbikes; proactively reviewing and early detecting fraudulent websites impersonating its agencies and units to warn and prevent online scams, ensuring information security for users and the brand of the organization or business.
Ministry of Transport Strengthen state management, strictly control airfare prices, and review the cost structure of air tickets of airlines to regulate appropriate prices, ensuring a harmonious balance of interests between consumers and airlines.
