From September 15-18, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Propaganda Department of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee and FPT University Can Tho to organize propaganda about seas and islands, attracting human resources to build a modern Navy.

More than 5,000 junior high and high school students at 5 schools in Kien Giang province and students of FPT University Can Tho were informed by reporters of the Naval Region 5 Command about the position, role and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints, policies and solutions of our Party and State in the struggle to protect sovereignty over seas and islands.

In addition, the students were also introduced by the reporters of the Naval Region 5 Command, disseminated historical documents, evidence, and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; the achievements and typical feats of arms of the Vietnam People's Navy in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; the journey of building, fighting, growing and developing of the Naval Region 5 Command.

The organizers gave gifts to students with good academic achievements.

In addition, students were also advised and provided with more information about training majors, conditions, procedures, and application processes for admission to the Naval Academy; and policies to attract high-quality human resources to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Navy.

Integrated into the awareness campaigns, the organizers posed numerous knowledge-based questions about the sea and islands, along with rewards for each correct answer, attracting a large number of students to participate. This contributed to fostering love for the sea and islands, and raising awareness and responsibility among the younger generation towards the cause of national construction and defense.

On this occasion, the Propaganda Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Naval Region 5 Command and schools in the province to distribute 3,500 leaflets to attract human resources; and presented 50 gifts to students with good academic achievements with a total value of 10 million VND.
