On November 22nd, a video clip showing a house on Ngo Thi Nham Street (Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ) on fire went viral on social media. At the time of the fire, the house was locked. The raging flames engulfed the first floor, causing panic among those nearby.

At that moment, a group of young men saw what was happening, ran over, broke the lock, and used fire extinguishers to put out the fire, preventing it from spreading.

The group of young men broke down the door and extinguished the fire in just 49 seconds. Netizens showered them with praise for their decisive and courageous actions, calling them "heroes."

Speaking to VTC News, Ms. Nguyen Minh Huong, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Pham Dinh Ho Ward (Hai Ba Trung District), said that the fire originated from a house that sells materials for motorcycles and cars. Upon discovering the incident, three residents joined the local fire department in extinguishing the fire.

These three individuals are: Hoang Tuan Anh (born in 1989, residing in Cau Giay, Hanoi); Tran Ngoc Hai (born in 1995, residing in Hoang Mai, Hanoi); and Dang Van Dong (born in 1999, residing in Doan Hung, Phu Tho ).

"Three residents working at the beer quán (bar/restaurant) assisted police officers, the ward's security and order protection team, and the urban planning team in handling the incident. We are proposing commendations," said Pham Dinh Ho, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee.

Nearly a day after the incident, Mr. Dang Van Dong recounted that at around 10 PM on November 21st, he noticed a burning smell and smoke rising from a house on Ngo Thi Nham Street. The house was located opposite the beer quán where he worked.

A few minutes later, the flames engulfed and intensified on the first floor of the house, where many flammable materials were stored. At that time, many people gathered, shouting to put out the fire. The house was unoccupied, but the locked door made it difficult for them to access and extinguish the flames. The risk of the fire spreading was very high.

"Hearing the shouts, I quickly ran over, used a crowbar to break the lock and pry open the door," Dong recounted. When the lock came open, they pulled open the iron door. At the same time, Dong's colleagues, Hoang Tuan Anh and Tran Ngoc Hai, grabbed two fire extinguishers that were available in the beer quán. They sprayed directly at the source of the fire.

Less than a minute later, the fire was extinguished. While authorities arrived to deal with the remaining embers and determine the cause of the incident, the three men returned to their work.

In their hearts, they were relieved that there was no one inside the house and no one was injured or killed. This morning, the homeowner went to the beer shop to thank Tuan Anh, Hai, and Dong. The beer shop also commended the three men for breaking down the door and using fire extinguishers to contain the raging fire.

The commander of the Fire and Rescue Police Team (Hai Ba Trung District Police) stated that the fire occurred at 9:44 PM on November 21st at house number 84 Ngo Thi Nhap Street, Pham Dinh Ho Ward. The building where the fire occurred was 3 stories high and approximately 30 square meters in size. Upon receiving the report, the unit dispatched two fire trucks to the scene to handle the incident.

Local residents and forces managed to control the fire by the time police arrived at the scene. There were no casualties. The cause of the incident is believed to be an electrical short circuit.
