On the afternoon of July 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Youth Science and Technology Development in collaboration with the University of Finance and Marketing ( Ministry of Finance ) organized a scientific workshop on "Developing Vietnam's logistics services: Opportunities and challenges".
According to the organizers, the conference received 67 reports from nearly 140 authors who directly attended and submitted them to the conference. The main content of the presentations focused on issues related to logistics services, digital economy , green supply chain... In particular, the presentations highlighted the opportunities and challenges of the Vietnamese logistics service industry in the current context, applying digital technology to develop logistics activities and optimize the supply chain. Some presentations proposed solutions to promote the development of green supply chains, improve the competitiveness of logistics service providers after Covid-19...

Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Thi Ngoc Oanh, Deputy Head of the Inspection Board of the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association, said: “To develop domestic logistics services, it is necessary to build a unified and interconnected information system, apply advanced technology and take advantage of real-time information and communication between related parties. Along with that, build a smart logistics information system, manage and monitor freight transport activities throughout the journey, and connect synchronously in the management and operation of the entire logistics and port system.”

Meanwhile, referring to the issue of human resource development for the logistics industry, Ms. Vu Thi Tam, Deputy General Director of Tan Cang Human Resources Development Company Limited, informed that: “It is necessary to create a close cooperation link between training institutions and businesses. Schools need to improve the quality of lecturers specializing in logistics and supply chain, organize classes to improve skills for logistics workers, spread the spirit of learning and innovation in the community. At the same time, strongly promote the role of professional associations in logistics”.

From there, we will continue to increase investment, develop infrastructure, improve service quality and solve challenges related to domestic and international transportation and distribution of goods.”
