Highlights of tourism links on the 'Central Heritage Road'

This is one of the activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Danang Travel Association (Danang Tourism Association).

Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, affirmed that Quang Nam , Da Nang, and Thua Thien - Hue have been and are major tourist centers in the country, with traditions, especially bright spots in linking activities.

Specifically, in the period of 2016 - 2019, the area of ​​3 provinces and cities in the Central region grew impressively and became a new destination for tourism in Vietnam as well as the Asian region, with 20 - 25 million tourists/year.

Central Vietnam is a new event and festival destination for Vietnam tourism.

The connection between the three localities has clearly promoted efficiency and complemented each other's potential strengths and advantages, especially when the "Central Heritage Road" passes through three localities with a massive world heritage system recognized by UNESCO.

With a convenient transportation system, key events and festivals of these three provinces and cities attract a large number of tourists such as: Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, Hue Festival, Quang Nam Heritage Journey...

"However, tourism in the three provinces and cities still has many limitations in investment, market development, tourism promotion, tourism products and services are not commensurate with the potential, and need to increase connectivity to increase competitiveness. There is still a lack of service infrastructure and high-quality accommodation facilities, affecting the promotion of the value of events and festivals," said Mr. Ha Van Sieu.

The Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration also suggested that the provinces and cities of Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Thua Thien - Hue should select a few traditional festivals and events that are important, typical, and valuable to invest in unique and attractive cultural, religious, and spiritual tourism products.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, affirmed that recently international events such as APEC, Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, Hue Festival, Quang Nam Heritage Festival... have turned the Central region into the national MICE tourism center.

In order for the three provinces and cities to continue to play a key role in the country's new tourist growth, Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, suggested that each locality should continue to promote events and festivals, invest in becoming a strong destination product, and best exploit the value of festivals. At the same time, it is necessary to adjust existing coordination regulations more effectively, such as unifying the schedule of events and festivals so that tourists and businesses can be proactive in visiting and exploiting.
