On August 31st, the artists held their first rehearsal for the National Concert "What Remains 2025". This is the 15th year the program has been held, and notably, it marks the first time the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has participated in directing the event.

Under the guidance of French conductor Olivier Ochanine and music director Tran Manh Hung, the first rehearsal took place in a fast-paced yet inspiring atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the rehearsal was the performance of "Luu Thuy - Kim Tien - Xuan Phong - Long Ho" by Meritorious Artist Le Giang and the Net Viet group. This folk song and Hue court music piece was arranged to be combined with the Sun Symphony Orchestra, creating a unique blend of traditional music and modern symphonic spirit. Composer Tran Manh Hung commented: "This combination could open up a new direction for modern Vietnamese folk music."

Cellist Phan Phúc delivers a deeply emotional rendition of the lyrical piece "Hướng về Hà Nội" (Towards Hanoi) , arranged in a gentle, profound, and emotionally rich style.

Young artist Luong Khanh Nhi, who recently returned from Europe, expressed her emotion at participating in the program on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day: "I am very happy to perform with the Sun Symphony Orchestra and to work again with Mr. Tran Manh Hung."

Regarding the performances by Phan Phúc and Lương Khánh Nhi, composer Trần Mạnh Hùng commented: “These are instrumental pieces originating from vocal music but elevated to wordless works. This requires the performers to practice very hard. Even the process of finalizing the score took me a lot of time, but it was all worthwhile.”

The rehearsal also marked the return of Tung Duong with two performances: "Dak Krong River in Spring" and "A Round Trip Around Vietnam" . With his extensive experience, he quickly integrated and collaborated effectively with the orchestra.

Afterward, singer Ha An Huy rehearsed the song "Hue – Saigon – Hanoi". Participating in "What Remains" for the first time, the male singer shared his feeling of honor at being able to sing in gratitude to the past, cherish the present, and express his faith in the future. The choir also practiced diligently to support his performance.

Singer Viet Danh had an enthusiastic rehearsal session with the song "Wind Blowing in All Directions" for the "Things That Remain 2025" program.

Dinh Trang and Hoang Ke had their first rehearsal with the Sun Symphony Orchestra for the piece "Thei Mai" – a work rich in traditional and modern nuances, blending Vietnamese folk music with symphonic orchestral style.

This year, Pham Khanh Ngoc will perform the song "Nha Trang in Autumn Returns". Having experience singing with an orchestra, the singer easily harmonized and had no difficulty. She received praise from conductor Olivier Ochanine for her rehearsals.

Singer Bach Tra, with her expressive voice, is also enthusiastically rehearsing her performance of "Sending You a Conical Hat with a Poem" - a song rich in Northern Vietnamese folk music combined with modern symphony.

The Army Group didn't take long to adapt to the orchestra either. The group said they had a productive rehearsal with conductor Olivier Ochanine and the orchestra.

Concluding the rehearsal, musician Tran Manh Hung commented: “The musical emotion has already reached 9-10 points from the very first session. I hope this year's program will leave a deep impression on the audience regarding traditional Vietnamese music, patriotic songs, as well as the beauty of Western instruments in the classical style.”

Tomorrow, all the artists will continue their second rehearsal at the Hanoi Opera House. Then, on the morning of September 2nd, they will have a dress rehearsal and perform officially at 2 PM on September 2nd at the Ho Guom Opera House. The national concert "What Remains 2025" will be broadcast live on VTV1.
