(NLDO) – Instead of short-term trading, investors are advised to focus on stocks of businesses with profit prospects and hold them for longer.
Commenting on the stock market trend next week (from December 16 to 20), Mr. Vo Kim Phung, Head of Analysis Department of BETA Securities Company, said that cash flow is clearly differentiated between industry groups. The concentration of cash flow mainly on a number of large-cap stocks has caused many small and medium-cap stocks to be under strong selling pressure.
"Risks and opportunities go hand in hand, requiring investors to have a flexible trading strategy. They should focus on stocks with good fundamentals, stable businesses, and positive profit prospects. Limiting the psychology of following short-term trends will help investors overcome volatile periods," said Mr. Phung.
Experts from Pinetree Securities Company also said that VN-Index had its first week of correction after 3 consecutive weeks of increase. Market liquidity has not improved yet, the market is likely to continue its accumulation trend with a narrow range in the coming days.
The strong support level of VN-Index is the 1,250 – 1,255 point zone. Notably, the US Federal Reserve (FED) policy meeting this week will be the focus of VN-Index in the context of lack of supporting information.

The forecasts were made by securities companies after the VN-Index closed the last trading week at 1,262.57 points, down 7.57 points compared to the previous week; the HNX Index fell 1.93 points to 227 points.
Stocks HDB, KDC, EIB, TCB, BVH… contributed to the market’s remarkable growth; while stocks that made the market less positive were VCB, VIC, HVM, MSN, LPB…
The downside is that trading liquidity decreased by 12% compared to last week; while foreign investors continued to net sell more than 1,100 billion VND on the HOSE floor, focusing on stocks in the VN30 basket such as FPT , MWG, VRE.

Regarding the recent fluctuations of stock groups, Mr. Tran Hoang Son, Director of Market Strategy, VPBankS Securities Company, said that looking at the whole picture, the market's cash flow trend is quite widespread and not concentrated in any industry.
Insurance is a good growth sector. This group has had a sharp decline since mid-year and bottomed out in November 2024.
Construction, building materials, chemicals, industrial real estate, logistics, etc. also attract good cash flow. This shows that the market has both bullish and cash flow signals, and is spreading in terms of cash flow, not focusing on any group but looking for groups with new stories and expectations in 2025.
"Looking at the cash flow structure, the banking group is still the number 1 group, accounting for nearly 23% of total market liquidity. Liquidity in the past 3 weeks has decreased due to contraction in the banking group but spread across a number of industries such as securities, real estate, construction and building materials," said Mr. Son.
