Orientation to adjust the planning of land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To into a park

Recently, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document announcing the conclusion of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc at the meeting on the implementation of the construction project at land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To, Vuon Lai ward.

Accordingly, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc assessed that the land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To is a central land plot of the city, with a special location, adjacent to 3 routes Ly Thai To, Hung Vuong and Tran Binh Trong, adjacent to metro line No. 1 extending from Ben Thanh to An Ha depot, metro line No. 3 in the future. Therefore, the early exploitation and use of the land plot is an urgent requirement. Currently, the ratio of green park area in the inner city area is very low compared to planning standards; at the same time, park facilities, public spaces, and playgrounds for the community in the central area have not met the requirements to serve the people.

Given the above situation, prioritizing land allocation for green development and forming public parks in this area is essential, contributing to improving the living environment and enhancing people's quality of life.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture to coordinate with the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward to study and propose a plan for this land area in the direction of forming a green park and playground space to serve the community; at the same time, study and integrate the arrangement of the memorial stele area for compatriots who died due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, consider planning about 4,000m² (expected at the corner of Tran Binh Trong and Ly Thai To streets) to build the Headquarters of the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward. In addition, it is necessary to study and integrate investment in some additional functional items (in the form of PPP) such as underground parking lots and other suitable utility services, in order to increase land use efficiency, optimize space and meet the needs of the people.
