Delegation of officials and civil servants of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion of Lang Son province learned experiences in reducing child marriage and incestuous marriage in Lao Cai

From October 26 to 30, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Lang Son organized a working group to study and exchange experiences in implementing Sub-project 2 - Project 9 on reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Lao Cai province.

Mr. Lam Van Vien - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Lang Son province spoke at the working session with Phuc Loi commune, Lao Cai province.

The working delegation included 35 delegates who are officials and civil servants of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of the province and the People's Committees of communes working on ethnic affairs, and a team of reporters and legal propagandists in Lang Son province.

Mr. Hoang Kim Anh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Loi Commune, Lao Cai Province, spoke at the meeting.

During the study and experience exchange trip, the delegates shared their experiences, advantages, difficulties, and good practices in implementing ethnic affairs and ethnic policies , especially related to the implementation of Sub-project 2, Project 9 "Reducing child marriage and incestuous marriage in ethnic minority areas". The delegation visited and exchanged experiences in Phuc Loi and Ta Phin communes of Lao Cai province.

Delegates exchanged, discussed, learned and shared experiences in implementing sub- project 2 - Project 9: Reducing early marriage and incestuous marriage.

Through the trip, the delegates exchanged and acquired many good and valuable experiences to improve their capacity in expertise, profession, knowledge, communication skills, advocacy, legal advice, model building... to improve the effectiveness of management, direction, organization and implementation of the model "Reducing child marriage and incestuous marriage in ethnic minority areas".

Working group to study and exchange experiences in Ta Phin commune, Lao Cai province

On that basis, further promote the role and responsibility of cadres working on ethnic affairs and grassroots cadres in propaganda work, mobilizing people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; join hands to prevent and repel early marriage and incestuous marriage in ethnic minority areas, contributing to socio -economic development in localities.
