Hai Duong province delegation visits Cuba and attends international conference on health

On the afternoon of April 25, 2025, the Hai Duong Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, met and worked with the Cuban Ministry of Health . Ms. Carilda Peña García, Deputy Minister of Health, received and worked with the delegation.

At the invitation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Cuba, from April 21 to 25, a delegation of Hai Duong province led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited Cuba and attended activities within the framework of the International Conference on Health hosted by the Cuban Ministry of Health.

The delegation included representatives of the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture and Environment, and representatives of several hospitals in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presented a gift to the Director of the Department of Health of Holguín province.

During their stay in Cuba, the Hai Duong delegation attended the plenary sessions of the conference; attended the International Fair “Health for All”; the Medical Tourism and Healthcare Fair; and participated in the opening ceremony of the Cuban National Health System Exhibition. This was an opportunity for Hai Duong health sector officials to exchange and access achievements in the fields of scientific research and medicine of the host country.

The international conference is a scientific and academic forum to discuss key issues of the 2030 Health Agenda. Experience sharing from delegates from many continents, leaders and health experts will contribute to creating consensus in improving access and ensuring equity in health care.

On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation met and worked with a number of Cuban agencies and units such as: Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Cuba, Deputy Minister of Health, Director of the Department of Health of Holguín Province and the Cuban Medical Services Company. During the meetings, the two sides exchanged information and learned about issues related to the fields of health and agriculture that both sides were interested in.

During the working trip, the delegation also laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial at Ho Chi Minh Park in the capital Havana and had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba.
