Over the past period, Ha Tinh province has always paid special attention to maintaining, strengthening, and consolidating the comprehensive friendship and cooperation with localities of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

On the morning of September 15th, a delegation from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam, led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam, paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Ha Tinh province.

Comrade Vo Trong Hai – Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – welcomed the delegation. Also present were Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thang - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; and representatives from several relevant departments, agencies, and units.

Speaking at the courtesy call, Ambassador Sengphet Hung-Bun-Nhuong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam, stated that in recent years, the world situation has been complex, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacting the entire world. In this context, Vietnam in general and Ha Tinh in particular have still achieved many great accomplishments and rapid development.

Diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos are also expanding and deepening. In particular, the Lao government highly values ​​the relationship between Ha Tinh province and localities in Laos. Despite difficult circumstances, Ha Tinh has directly provided financial support and numerous infrastructure projects in the fields of healthcare, irrigation, and agriculture to localities in Laos. Every year, it provides hundreds of scholarships to support students studying at training institutions in the province, contributing to improving the skill level of the workforce in Laos.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam also expressed gratitude for the support and favorable conditions provided by the Party and State leaders, as well as local authorities, including Ha Tinh province, in enabling the Lao Embassy in Vietnam to fulfill its mission.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai held discussions with the delegation from the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, on behalf of the provincial leadership, congratulated the Ambassador on his outstanding performance during his term in Vietnam and on being awarded the First Class Labor Order by the Vietnamese Party and State for his significant contributions to the bilateral relationship. He also expressed gratitude for the affection and concern shown by the Lao Embassy delegation towards Ha Tinh and for Ambassador Sengphet Hung Bunnhuong's objective assessment of the situation in Vietnam and Ha Tinh.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also provided additional information on some outstanding achievements in the socio-economic development of Ha Tinh province. In particular, in the field of foreign affairs, Ha Tinh has always paid special attention to maintaining, strengthening, and consolidating friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation with localities in Laos; especially with Bolikhamsai, Khammouane, Savannakhet provinces, and the capital Vientiane, expanding relations with provinces in Northern Laos.

The two sides also regularly exchange high-level delegations; there is close, comprehensive, and effective cooperation in all fields; the focus is on exchange and cooperation in border security, health, agriculture, new rural development, and investment attraction...

Building upon the achievements already made, Ha Tinh continues to consolidate and strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Laos for the enduring existence and prosperous development of both nations.
