Businesses "disillusioned" when betting on AI, spending billions of dollars with unclear results
Expectations are booming, but generative AI is facing a harsh reality: profits have not improved, employees are worried about losing their jobs, and customers are still wary.

Generative AI is recreating the “productivity paradox” that occurred with PCs and the Internet. Although nearly 80% of global businesses have deployed AI, profits have not improved significantly.
42% of companies will cancel most AI projects by the end of 2024 due to low efficiency and high costs. The reasons lie in technology, employee anxiety about losing their jobs and lack of trust from customers.
MIT expert Andrew McAfee believes that technological power is a necessary but not sufficient condition for economic breakthrough. Many businesses implement AI in a “bottom-up” manner, resulting in fragmented projects and a lack of overall strategy.
