The Vietnam women’s volleyball team continued to reach a historic milestone when it rose to 23rd place in the world rankings of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) for the first time. This achievement came after the team’s 3-0 victory over the Philippines in the opening match of the second round of SEA V.League 2025 on August 8.

According to the latest update from FIVB, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team were awarded 4.46 points, bringing their total score to 152.37. This is the highest ranking in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball. Before entering the SEA V.League, we were ranked 26th in the world.
At SEA V.League 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is determined to end Thailand's dominance. However, in the first round, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team suffered a bitter defeat with a score of 2-3 against Thailand in a direct confrontation and ranked second.
In the second leg, both the Vietnamese and Thai women's volleyball teams won 3-0 against Indonesia and the Philippines.

Thailand is the top women's volleyball team in Southeast Asia, ranked 21st in the world with 160.42 points, 8 points more than the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Italy is still the world leader with 474.26 points. Next in order are Brazil, Poland, China, Japan, Turkey, the US, the Netherlands, Serbia and Dominica...
