On January 2, according to information from the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province, during the 3-day New Year holiday 2024 (December 30, 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024), the locality welcomed a total of 170,000 domestic and international tourists, an increase of about 60% compared to the New Year holiday in 2023.

Of which, domestic tourists are estimated at 128,840, international tourists are estimated at 41,160. Of these, 56,800 are overnight guests. In 3 days, total tourism revenue of Quang Ninh province is estimated at 340 billion VND, an increase of 48% compared to the 2023 New Year holiday.

The event of Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province organized an art program to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its founding (December 27, 1993 - December 27, 2023) on the evening of December 31, 2023 at October 30 Square attracted a large number of locals and tourists.

In addition, Ha Long Bay - a place recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site three times - also attracted a large number of tourists. In 3 days, a total of 33,500 tourists visited Ha Long Bay, including 25,400 international tourists.

In addition, some famous tourist destinations in Quang Ninh province also attracted a large number of visitors during this occasion. These include Quang Ninh Museum (welcoming about 4,500 visitors), Sun World Park (14,000 visitors), and Cua Ong Temple (1,500 visitors).

The good start in the first days of the year helps the tourism industry of Quang Ninh province confidently complete the set target of welcoming 17 million visitors in 2024, an increase of more than 1.5 million compared to 2023, including 3 million international visitors .
