Storms cause damage in many localities

On the morning of July 21, heavy rain and strong winds caused many trees in Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province to fall down. At Xuan Huong Park, many branches of the three-leaf pine tree broke, including a branch with a diameter of about 40cm, damaging a 7-seat car parked in the park. About 20m away, a three-leaf pine tree with a diameter of about 70cm and a height of more than 10m was uprooted and crushed a 5-seat car, causing serious damage.

On the same day, heavy rain also blew off the roofs of 4 houses in Da Son, Da K'Nang, Bob Le and Dong Gle villages and caused the entrance gate of Da Mun village, Dam Rong 1 commune (Lam Dong province) to collapse. On National Highway 27, through Lang To village, Dam Rong 1 commune, heavy rain and strong winds caused 2 trees to fall onto the road. Immediately afterwards, authorities were present to clean up the scene and ensure smooth traffic. In Lac Duong commune, Lang Biang ward - Da Lat, heavy rain and strong winds also blew off the roof of 0.3 hectares of agricultural greenhouses.

On the same day, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province reported on the weather, natural disasters and damage caused by storms and tornadoes due to the impact of storm No. 3 (from July 19 to 20, 2025) in the area. Due to widespread heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind, 14 houses had their roofs blown off, part of the garage roof collapsed; 17 trees fell; and some areas of crops, fruit trees... with a total damage of about 700 million VND. The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of communes and wards is continuing to inspect the scene, count and assess the damage to have a support plan. At the same time, update the weather and natural disasters to warn people, agencies and organizations, to proactively prevent and minimize damage.

According to records in some communes such as Bau Ham, Cam My and Long Khanh and Binh Loc wards, after heavy rains and thunderstorms occurred, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of localities mobilized shock forces to coordinate with the military and police forces in the area to support the evacuation of people and property to a safe place. The functional forces helped people repair damaged houses, cut down fallen trees, and organize traffic flow. For areas with power outages, electricity workers went directly to the scene to fix the problem, support connections, and serve the daily life of the people.

On the afternoon of July 21, a large storm swept through many wards and communes of Ho Chi Minh City such as Vung Tau, Ba Ria, Phu My... causing hundreds of trees to be uprooted and broken. Among them, a star tree on Le Hong Phong Street (Vung Tau Ward) fell, blocking the road and causing the water supply system to break.
