After accumulating sufficient funds and deciding to quit his job at the Central Vietnam College of Industry and Trade, Hau embarked on a virtual reality tourism project. He hired someone to build a website at a cost of 40 million VND and personally collected data on tourist destinations.

In October 2024, the first tourist destinations in the former Phu Yen province appeared on Mr. Hau's platform. Two months later, the project began to be widely publicized with 80 locations, later increasing to 139 destinations, including: scenic spots, historical sites, restaurants, hotels, and even famous traditional craft villages…
"The most difficult part was data collection. I had to go directly to each location to take panoramic photos using specialized equipment. Sometimes, if it was rainy or windy, the trip would be wasted...", Mr. Hau shared.

Mr. Hau added that he is currently the sole "soul" of the project. He handles every step himself, from collecting and processing photos to writing articles and connecting destinations. Each location takes about two days to complete, including taking photos, processing, connecting, and writing descriptive articles. Notably, he uses AI technology to convert the articles into spoken text, providing a convenient experience for users.
"While working on this project, I had to delve deeper into the local culture and feel a greater love for my homeland. I actively gathered information from many sources, especially official provincial sources, to ensure the accuracy of the historical site section. As for the scenic spots, I wrote based on my personal feelings as a native of Phu Yen experiencing them as a tourist," Hau confided.
Although Hau's website focuses heavily on user experience with visually appealing and accessible images, this also makes search engine optimization more challenging.
He accepted "sacrificing" some search engine optimization to prioritize the user's visual experience. His website is less likely to be recommended by search engines because the articles are hidden within videos. However, when visitors access the website, they will experience convenience and ease of use.
With the spirit of developing local tourism, Mr. Hau had previously offered to donate the website usage rights to the former Phu Yen province for widespread promotion. However, during the administrative merger process, his project was not yet submitted to the local authorities.
In the near future, Mr. Hau plans to expand the project to western Dak Lak. He has planned to visit Buon Ma Thuot at the end of July to survey and collect data at several prominent locations, such as: the center of Buon Ma Thuot, Buon Don, and the Dak Lak Coffee Museum.
Mr. Hau said that he had no intention of establishing a travel company or selling tours, because many other entities have already developed the tourism industry. He wanted to follow a path that no one else had taken, contributing in a unique way to his homeland.
With burning passion and unwavering perseverance, Hau's VR virtual reality tourism project is not just a technological product, a "digital tourism" initiative, but also an inspiring story about love for his homeland and a desire to contribute.
