Plan to build new People's Police water port in Ha Tinh

(Baohatinh.vn) - According to the recently approved project, in the Central region, 10 new People's Police water ports will be built in provinces and cities, including Ha Tinh.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Decision No. 1818/QD-TTg dated August 25, 2025 approving the Project on investing in the construction of People's Public Security ports and wharves nationwide and equipping patrol boats for the waterway police force to ensure security and order, prevent crime, and rescue on waterways.

The project aims to modernize facilities and means of service, and build a regular, elite, and modern Waterway Police force.

The project is implemented nationwide in the period of 2025-2030 to modernize facilities and means of service to improve capacity, build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern waterway police force, meeting requirements and tasks in the new situation, contributing to maintaining security, order, and social safety on waterways, serving waterway transport activities, economic and social development and the cause of building and protecting the country, associated with the strategy of sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy of our Party and State, while serving well the work of natural disaster prevention, rescue and relief.

The project sets a goal by 2026: Investing in the construction of a new People's Public Security port with a suitable location to deploy professional activities of the People's Public Security force in Quang Ninh province.

Invest in, renovate and upgrade 3 existing People's Police water ports and build 7 new People's Police water ports to ensure modernity to meet work requirements and tasks.

Invest in purchasing modern patrol and control vessels ready to carry out patrol, control and handling of law violations; fight against crime; prevent natural disasters and rescue at coastal and inland waters in the Northern region; coordinate and support functional forces in carrying out emergency situations related to protecting territorial sovereignty and other sudden tasks.

Recruit and train captains, chief engineers, sailors, and mechanics to ensure sufficient quantity and staffing according to regulations to operate water vehicles and maritime vehicles.

After 2026: Invest in building 4 new People's Public Security ports on key waterways, with suitable locations to deploy professional activities of the People's Public Security force in the provinces and cities: Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, An Giang, Dong Thap.

Continue to invest in, renovate and upgrade 10 existing People's Public Security water ports and build 32 new People's Public Security water ports to ensure modernity and meet the requirements and tasks of work in the new situation.

Continue to invest in purchasing modern patrol and control vessels ready to carry out patrol, control and handling of law violations; fight against crime; prevent natural disasters and rescue at coastal areas and inland waters in the Central and Southern regions; coordinate and support functional forces in carrying out emergency situations related to protecting territorial sovereignty and other sudden tasks.

Complete the team directly performing patrol and control duties; the crew, the force performing vehicle registration and inspection; the force preventing and combating crimes on waterways with sufficient capacity and high mobility, controlling the activities of all types of crimes and law violations on waterways, especially on coastal routes and inland waters.

The project clearly states the location and scale of investment in People's Public Security ports and wharves, specifically:

In the Northern region: Build 1 type I water port in Quang Ninh province; invest in building and renovating 14 People's Public Security water ports, specifically: build 11 People's Public Security water ports in the provinces and cities including: Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Hanoi City, Hai Phong City, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh and the Traffic Police Department (Quang Ninh province); renovate and upgrade: 3 People's Public Security water ports in the provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho.

In the Central region: Build 2 type I water ports in Khanh Hoa province and type III in Da Nang city; invest in construction and renovation of 11 People's Public Security water ports, specifically: build 10 new People's Public Security water ports in provinces and cities, including: Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue City, Da Nang City, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa and the Traffic Police Department (in Nghe An and Da Nang city); renovate and upgrade: 1 People's Public Security water port in Nghe An province.

In the Southern region: Build 2 type I water ports in An Giang and Dong Thap provinces; invest in construction and renovation of 27 People's Public Security water ports, specifically: build 18 new People's Public Security water ports in the provinces and cities including: Dong Nai, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Ca Mau, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City and Traffic Police Department (Can Tho City and Ho Chi Minh City); renovate and upgrade 9 People's Public Security water ports in the provinces and cities: Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ca Mau, Can Tho.
