Hoi An Ancient Town - World Cultural Heritage has just continued to make a strong impression when it was ranked No. 1 in the top 5 most charming historical centers in Asia by the online travel site Tourlane (France). This ranking was built by Tourlane based on 4 criteria: Walking space, formation age, tour cost and popularity on Instagram.
According to the assessment, Hoi An owns a trading port formed in the 16th century that is quite well preserved, the entrance fee is only about 2 Euros (2.36 USD) and the walking street system is convenient for tourists. Along with Hoi An, other ancient centers on the list include Bhaktapur (Nepal), Kyoto (Japan), Luang Prabang (Laos) and Galle Fort (Sri Lanka), all of which are World Cultural Heritages.

Meanwhile, Cam Thanh village (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang city) is also honored to be included in the list of 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025 announced by Forbes magazine (USA), holding the 20th position. Cam Thanh is the only village in Vietnam to be honored.
Forbes describes Cam Thanh as “a village surrounded by rivers and vast green coconut forests”, where visitors can experience rowing basket boats in the middle of the Bay Mau coconut forest, witness fishermen casting their nets, or leisurely cycle through small alleys, lotus ponds, and shrimp ponds. On the shore, visitors can also participate in cooking classes, preparing traditional local dishes themselves, creating a special attraction.

The fact that Hoi An Ancient Town and Cam Thanh Village were simultaneously named by prestigious international organizations and magazines in 2025 is not only a source of pride for Da Nang people, but also affirms that Da Nang tourism brand is increasingly expanding, becoming an attractive, safe and unique destination.
In this year's list, European villages dominate, holding eight of the top 10 positions, along with two representatives from Japan and the Philippines. In total, the Asian region has 11 honored villages.
