Hoi An Ancient Town, a World Heritage Site, has once again made a strong impression by being ranked number 1 in the top 5 most charming historical centers in Asia by the French online travel site Tourlane. This ranking was compiled by Tourlane based on four criteria: pedestrian accessibility, age of establishment, cost of entry, and popularity on Instagram.
According to assessments, Hoi An boasts a well-preserved trading port dating back to the 16th century, with an entrance fee of only about 2 Euros (2.36 USD) and a convenient pedestrian street system for tourists. Along with Hoi An, other ancient centers on the list include Bhaktapur (Nepal), Kyoto (Japan), Luang Prabang (Laos), and Galle Fort (Sri Lanka), all of which are World Heritage Sites.

Meanwhile, Cam Thanh village (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang city) also had the honor of being included in the list of the 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025, published by Forbes magazine (USA), holding the 20th position. Cam Thanh is the only village in Vietnam to receive this honor.
Forbes describes Cam Thanh as "a village surrounded by rivers and vast green coconut groves," where visitors can experience rowing basket boats amidst the Seven-Acre Coconut Forest, witness fishermen casting their nets firsthand, or leisurely cycle through narrow alleys, lotus ponds, and shrimp farms. On shore, visitors can also participate in cooking classes and prepare traditional local dishes themselves, creating a unique attraction.

The fact that Hoi An Ancient Town and Cam Thanh Village are both recognized by prestigious international organizations and magazines in 2025 is not only a source of pride for the people of Da Nang, but also affirms Da Nang's tourism brand as it expands further, becoming an attractive, safe, and culturally rich destination.
In this year's list, European villages dominate, holding 8 out of 10 spots in the top 10, alongside two representatives from Japan and the Philippines. In total, the Asian region has 11 villages honored.
